MoodDreams Review at Raindance Film Festival 2026

INTERVIEW: 'Laudreams' Dir: Amber Gadd, Evie Ward-Drummond

The hottest day of the summer. An empty laundrette situated in an empty street in Sheffield. Manned by 20-year-olds Minnie and Leah; here nothing ever happens and nothing ever changes.

Until…

Danny walks through the laundrette doors, and they’re forced to throw a party to impress him. The biggest disappointment of their lives occurs when no-one turns up and, in a call to arms, the OAP regulars save the day.

Sometimes the people right under your nose are the ones you needed all along. What unfolds is a story about community, class and female friendship. A salute to the unheard voices who never left their hometown, and a love letter to those who wash our clothes.
